Fact check : Does Hindustan refer to land of Hindus

Hindustan is derived from the Persian word HindÅ« cognate with the Sanskrit Sindhu.[5] The Proto-Iranian sound change *s > h occurred between 850–600 BCE, according to Asko Parpola.[6] Hence, the Rigvedic sapta sindhava (the land of seven rivers) became hapta hindu in Zend Avesta.
In simple words

Northern India was referred to as land of Sindhava (7 rivers) -
In translation from the Iranian origin of the word it became the word Hindustan

India has never claimed to be a land of any specific religious community. It is a nation which welcomed all religious communities and has a rich diverse culture because of this nature.

Many leaders try to create a wrong analogy misusing the word 'Hindustan' to target Hindus which are the largest demographic of India.
