Chronology of CAA Poll

The twitter poll launched by Sudhir Chaudhary purportedly to get real opinion of India saw a few twists and turns

As our beloved leader said - "Aap chronology samajhiye". So I tried to understand chronology of the poll and found it quite interesting to share.

On day 1 for first few hours - there was more support for CAA probably due to Sudhir Chaudhary (who has pro government bent) starting the poll So naturally his followers would be among the first to see the poll and vote on it .

After few hours twitter user @Nehr_who started to rally opposition for CAA and then the trend changed with 57% votes in opposition of CAA to 43% in support

For the first and second day opposition to CAA maintained its edge consistently with votes in opposition always above 52% and votes in favour below 48%

On the third day opposition to CAA was 52% and support was 48% was maintained for most of the time
Suddenly three and half hours before the poll was scheduled to end  17,161 votes were cast in favor of CAA in a span of just 18 minutes turning the result to in favour of CAA : 50% and opposition to CAA : 50% .

Note : An average of around 2,250 votes casted in 20 minutes was found compared to sudden burst of votes This indicates 7.5 times more than normal rate of votes were casted and 99.1% in favour of CAA during the given 20 minutes.

This was noticed by other twitter users as well. (provided screenshots in link) This prompted many users in opposition rallying their supporters to get more votes in opposition.

For next few hours it seemed despite overall trend for past 3 days being against CAA in poll - result would be in favour: 52% and opposition: 48%.

But the sudden lead could not be sustained and final result was 50.4% in opposition to CAA and votes in favour trailing at 49.6%

In summary majority of twitter users remain opposed to CAA throughout the poll and the final result was in line with majority trend for the 3 days.

Sometimes

I was travelling in bus coming back from interview. I saw a girl from one side of the bus. There was some quality about her. She reminded me of a girl I knew, took me back to past - that bitter sweet feeling. These are just stolen glimpses of what once was.

Why have we not been able to get the swiss black money back

About 5 years ago nation was seething with rage our the corruption and apathy of our system. At the same time there was an envelope that contained names of people with undisclosed money in swiss accounts, courtesy - individuals names were disclosed by Germany for having accounts in LGT Bank in Liechtenstein and the French government last year making available list of 782 Indian citizens who allegedly hold HSBC accounts in Geneva
Our beloved leader being the chest beating ‘desh bhakt’ he is proclaimed - “humara videshon mein jama kaala dhan ana chahiye ki nahi aana chahiye?” (Our money locked abroad as ill gotten gain should come or not?)
The gullible voters being the sheep they are agreed and thought - Ye Karega, ye aadmi hi alag hain (This man will do, He is a different man)
Fast forward today, the said envelope is still moving through the corridors of power and the chest beating ‘desh bhakt’ doesn’t talk about it any more. He only answers scripted questions with a fawning audience.

You ask why it has not been brought back?
First the intention was to get power by bringing up the issue. Second the electorate is forgetful toh mere saath zor se bolo bhaiyo or beheno - “Main bhi chowkidaar” (Translation: Shout with me, my brothers and sisters - I am also a watchman).

Who should get the credit for IAF operation

BJP Supporters want Modi to be given the credit for showing the political will to attack back (This is false as Army has done surgical strikes quietly without fanfare before 2014 of which at least 3 are in official records)

Opposition supporters ask if Modi govt. didn't take responsibility for Pulwama attack Why do they run to claim credit for IAF operation. It's the defence institution which should be credited for the successful operation

Meanwhile
Delhi BJP MLAs are marshalled out of Delhi Assembly. The Delhi Assembly speaker was accused by the Opposition parties of not giving time to laud the strikes to which Goel said the BJP MLAs chanted "Modi Zindabad" instead of hailing the Indian Air Force.

Why did Yogendra Yadav quit (or was expelled from) AAP

Yogendra Yadav's explanation is he questioned a candidate. He felt the candidate did not deserve to represent AAP. So he was ousted.

Kumar Vishwas once said Yogendra Yadav expected to become CM as he had Prashant Bhushan's support and believes he is intelligent (reference KV speech after Yogendra's exit) so he was not willing to hear others.

Atishi said that compromise was worked out between Yogendra and Arvind camp but Shanti bhushan said No. Hence Prashant Bhushan withdrew, so Yogendra withdrew and then Arvind also withdrew.

Reality may be somewhere in between.

I have not heard Arvind Kejriwal speak on this yet.

Dynasty in Politics

I have often seen BJP supporters complaining that Congress is a dynasty around Gandhi family while BJP is not.

I find the claim to be partially true because just like Congress, BJP leaders also promote their kid to top positions with little field work.

1. Dushyant Singh

Dushyant Singh is was elected to 14th Lok Sabha from Jhalawar constituency (Rajasthan). He is son of Rajasthan former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje

Before being elected as MLA, he was working in private role : evaluating real estate and assisting in Executive Search for various positions for the firms largest clients

The information is taken from his own website: http://dushyantsingh.in/biography/

2. More people to come

P.S> I see no problem in dynasties in politics because if people vote for a person based on his father's/mother's credential. The fault if any lies more with the people than the father/mother who will simply utilize the opportunity to create dynasty in politics.

In which movies did the villain actually have a point?

I think Merovingian (also known as 'The Frenchman') from Matrix hasn't been appreciated for his intellect.

Trinity: I don't have time for this shit.
[fight ensues and she puts a gun to the Merovingian's head]
Trinity: You wanna make a deal? How about this? You give me Neo or we all die, right here, right now.
Merovingian: Interesting deal. You are really ready to die for this man?
Trinity: [cocks gun] Believe it.
Persephone: She'll do it. If she has to, she'll kill every one of us. She's in love.
MerovingianIt is remarkable how similar the pattern of love is to the pattern of insanity.

The dialogue is  a gem and even more impactful in Hindi dubbing

"प्यार हो या पागलपन | दोनों में ही इन्सान दीवाना हो जाता है | "

The anger in my soul

The anger in my soul on realizing people don't love you the same when you are poor

The anger in my soul on realizing people don't care about what you say, they just want to have their way

The anger in my soul on realizing people destroy relationships just to mask their mistakes

The anger in my soul on realizing people are not just, so How can it be a just world?

Answer to a common question on Modi

How can India ever have an uncorrupt and hardworking prime minister like Narendra Modi for 20+ years with 1/4th Muslim population voting in block for corrupt parties like the SP, BSP, RJD, and the Congress?

Your question has following assumptions
1. Narendra Modi is not corrupt.
2. Narendra Modi is hard working
3. Muslim votes in block
4. SP, BSP, RJD, Congress are corrupt parties. BJP’s name is missing from the list.

The assumptions are not substantiated, further there are evidences to the contrary in public domain
Assumption 1: Rafale Deal was championed by Shri Modi ji and there is no justification tabled in public for the 2.5 times price increase being paid out to Rafale.

Assumption 2: Narendra Modi has been also been leading campaign for BJP spending more time than predecessor. His foreign visits have not much to show for unless You subscribe to whatsapp University in that case Modi is controlling oil prices by discussing with Saudi Sheikh.

Assumption 3: There is no verification of this argument. It is often used to try to exhort Hindus to vote in a block for Hindu party.

Assumption 4: All political parties run on opaque funds including BJP. Missing BJPs name in the list is surprising.

To answer your question despite flawed assumptions - Modi would need to win 4 elections in a row and be choice of majority of MPs to be PM for 4 terms. The rhetoric of “Congress ko 60 saal diye, mujhe bhi do” is covered by liberal freedom of speech in politics but doesn’t translate to any guarantee by constitution.

Congress was democratically elected for 60 years and got a drubbing for imposing emergency. BJP will also have to face the same challenges , Congress did to remain in power. The dialogue does tug at heart strings of many people though as if we were all eating roots and shoots till Modi ji came along.
