American Gun-'o'-cracy

While the debate over Massacre in Newtown rages on analyzing in

  1. Ignored planning of attacker
  2. Keeping School premises safe
  3. Need to be more vigilant
  4. How such events are rare (Really! That's your point of supporting gun ownership)
One reason assiduously ignored is the fact that America is still the wild west with its Right to Bear Arms (Recently supported by even the Supreme Court). When a society allows easy access to purchasing Guns (By the way America has the largest number of gun owners. Perhaps Business takes precedence over personal safety).

It is no wonder that those without guns shall face the wrath of gun owners. Not to say Guns should be given to every one, That would be Talibanisation (Americans so hate that!) But To ask Why The land of opportunity still believes more in guns than law enforcement ?

P.S. My knowledge on the issue is limited.

Extra info: Versions of the Assault Rifle-15 were outlawed in the United States under the 1994 assault weapons ban. That law expired in 2004, and Congress, in a nod to the political clout of the gun-rights lobby, did not renew it.
