In an episode of Louis C.K’s hit TV show “Louie”, Louis who is normally known for his wit, provides his daughter with invaluable insight about fairness and equality.

We all want life to be fair. The older you get, the more you realize this just isn’t possible. We want to have as much as everyone else. Your neighbor just bought a BMW, making you look differently at the perfectly fine Hyundai Sonata you just purchased. Your friends are going on an epic month long trip to Asia, you are going to Florida for a week. Appreciate what you have.

It’s important to realize for ourselves and to teach children that life isn’t always fair, some people come out on top while some people are less fortunate. I’m not talking cars or trips, I’m talking food and shelter. We all must make sure that ‘our neighbors bowl has enough’.

Louie puts it best….

Daughter (I presume): Why does she get one, and not me?

Louis: You’re never gonna get the same things as other people. It’s never going to be equal. It’s not gonna happen ever in your life so, you must learn that now, okay?

Louis: Listen. The only time you should look in your neighbor’s bowl is to make sure they have enough. You don’t look in your neighbor’s bowl to see if you have… as much as them.

How to set width of EditText in android

I wanted to create an EditText box of specific width in Android (160 characters - the standard SMS size)

The best approach I found is to create a hint message of required characters

Set hint message as EditText hint with 0% opacity as hint color. So that it is invisible. :)

Example : To create an edit text of 160 characters I created a hint message of 160 characters

Layout.xml

<EditText    android:layout_width="wrap_content"    android:layout_height="wrap_content"    android:gravity="top"    android:id="@+id/input"    android:hint="@string/hint_message"    android:textColorHint="#00FFFFFF"/>

Strings.xml

<string name="hint_message">Enter message here.............................................................................................................................................</string>





Note: Setting maxLength attribute of EditText will only decide the number of characters the user can input. It does not have any effect on physical width of EditText

It’s usually a husband and wife taking turns being strong for each other in the moments when the other feels weak.Prioritize what happens in the bedroom. It takes more than sex to build a strong marriage, but it’s nearly impossible to build a strong marriage without it!

Remember that marriage isn’t 50-50, divorce is 50-50. Marriage has to be 100-100. It’s not splitting everything in half, but both partners giving everything they’ve got!

Give your best to each other, not your leftovers after you’ve given your best to everyone else.

Learn from other people, but don’t feel the need to compare your life or your marriage to anyone else’s. God’s plan for your life is masterfully unique!

Be patient with each other. Your spouse is always more important that your schedule.

Model the kind of marriage that will make your sons want to grow up to be good husbands and your daughters want to grow up to be good wives.

Never talk badly about your spouse to other people or vent about them online. Protect your spouse at all times and in all places.

Pray together. Every marriage is stronger with God in the middle of it.

When you have to choose between saying nothing or saying something mean to your spouse, say nothing every time!

Never consider divorce as an option. Remember that a “perfect marriage” is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each .

Solving problem in moving data to sd card for redmi note 3

So the other day, I could not move my data to sd card using ES File explorer

This weird dialog left me puzzled

But after some google search I found there is an app called 'Documents' (Settings > Installed apps> All)

For some reason it is disabled
Just click the app and click 'Enable'

Select sd card on the next screen
Click select.
Viola! ES File explorer should be able to move data to sd card now.

Creating and using multiple profiles on firefox

Task 1 : Create multiple profile

Press Windows Key + R to open Run dialog and type the following command
 firefox.exe -ProfileManager

Now you can create profiles according to requirement. I have 2 profiles
1. Work
2. Personal
 

Task 2: Using Profile

Press Windows Key + R to open Run dialog and type the following command
firefox.exe -ProfileManager -no-remote

Select the profile you want to use.

How to enable side loading of apps on Redmi note 3

In order to install apps using APK file. You need to allow your phone to install from sources other than Google play

For this
Go to Settings -> Additional settings

Go to Privacy

Check Unknown sources (Allow installation of apps from unknown sources)

Click OK on warning message

Viola! Now your phone is ready to sideload apps using APK files. Just click APK files and install apps.

Hi visitor,

Telemarketing SMS have become a problem due to creating unnecessary disturbance and diverting attention from work you are busy in.
