Crisis of Ideas in politics

BJP recently had a national executive meeting where it blasted UPA's“comprehensive failure” in managing the economy.
But What was not revealed is How would BJP take economic decisions if voted to power.How would it trim fiscal deficit OR burgeoning expenditure of government?

I believe that an evolved democracy is one where the opposition not only keeps a check on government's overreach but also presents an alternative course of action.

Serving justice

Cases drag in Indian court for years is a well known fact

Even in America Justice is delayed (For example the dragging case of person killed in 9/11 flight Vs the airlines for 9 years) but the judge has came up with an innovative solution providing both parties to argument in 2 months time and Judgement will be pronounced
Of the 90 cases 89 settled for compensation by companies.

Guess our Indian judges can take a cue from this.

Policy to ensure legacy for the future generations

The best concept to prevent plastic pollution is "Cradle to grave policy" It obliges the manufacturer to recover the waste produced by product.
So we can see Mineral Water bottle manufacturers asking the consumer to give bottles for recycling.The detterent to not doing that can be imposition of fines on companies not coming up with facility to the consumers to do so at the store where they bought the product.Also creating Cans to dispose off plastics by stores in the area will be effective to enact a law to prevent littering of public places

What does a school going child learn when his dad jumps traffic light on a purportedly vacant street (i.e. sans coming vehicle from other side and challan maker ;)) to drop him off at bus stop?

Hunger strike for political ends

I read about hunger strike for Jan Lokpal bill and appreciate the man for his upright living.

Then I read Hunger strike for a new state

Creation of a new state is like giving something to dream about.Let the new state be created All corruption would be erased, all troubles would be gone, employment will flourish.The problem is "The idea is appealing to the people but the assumed upshots aren't anywhere related to the idea.Would the new state have a new species of people running the administration.Would it set a different system OR set up by different people than the ones in power? No.The problem remains unsolved except for some new people coming in power".

Never Heard about hunger strike for the youth of this country:

atleast 50 million indians are unemployed

 some 200 million are under-employed

 they too could get our attention if they went on hunger strike

 But then they are already hungry.

Why are farmers poor

Bumper wheat crop in India
Government provides enough support for a bumper crop But due to over production the market prices prove insufficient to raise living standards of farmer despite good crop.And farmers are not allowed to export the crop to fetch good earnings because of political compulsions and when export restrictions are removed those currying favour with govt. officials are able to export.
While in the domestic market the prices are lower than international ones but still the benefit comes to middlemen whether inflation or not.

In simple terms there is no management of wheat.We have a bumper crop which is stored so safe by Food corporation of India that It becomes food of rodents and kept in plastic sheets in open weather "Crop that breathes"
And not to imagine the scenario when crop fails
